Credit notes done properly
A sent invoice never changes. That is the whole point of an invoice. Corrections become a credit note, linked to the original, numbered in its own series.
Every currency, any tax label
VAT 21%, GST 10%, Sales Tax 8.25%. You name the tax and set the rate. No country wizard telling you what you already know.

Questions
Before you ask
Do I need an account to make an invoice?
No. The generator works with no signup at all: fill it in, download the PDF, done. An account is for keeping things: your invoices, your clients and the bills you receive, and what has been paid on each.
Is the free version actually usable?
Yes. The generator is unlimited and free forever, and every template is included on every plan. A free account keeps 5 invoices a month, your clients and the bills you receive. The only visible limit is a small “Made with Billr” line in the PDF footer.
Can I use it outside Europe?
Yes. Over twenty currencies and a free-text tax field, so you can put VAT, GST or Sales Tax on it at whatever rate applies to you. Billr deliberately does not try to guess your local tax rules.
What about e-invoicing and Peppol?
Yes, where your country uses it. Belgium, the Netherlands, the Nordics, Australia and a dozen more run business invoicing over the Peppol network, and in Belgium it is mandatory between VAT-registered businesses. Switch it on under Settings, confirm your identity once, and Billr sends and receives through it. Elsewhere, invoices go by e-mail and PDF as before.
How do I sign in without a password?
You type your e-mail address and we send you a six-digit code that is valid for ten minutes. There is no password to create, forget, reuse or leak.
